Mr Tefera's Story
From Ethiopia’s highlands to every lot we export
Mr. Tefera Anbessa’s relationship with coffee began in Ethiopia’s farming communities and has grown into a career spanning more than thirty years, shaping how specialty coffee moves from farm to market. As President of Meher Coffee and Coffee Production & Quality Manager, he has organized cooperatives, guided on-farm practices, and built partnerships that deliver consistent, specialty-grade lots to Meher and to roaster partners worldwide.
He leads our cupping and certification work from a state-of-the-art lab in Addis Ababa, personally overseeing processing, tasting, and grading to ensure every lot meets global standards for organic, single-origin specialty coffee. Mr. Tefera combines deep origin knowledge with rigorous quality control, ensuring that each coffee is selected and verified by someone who truly knows the farms, the people, and the cup.
At Meher, he does more than assess beans. He curates relationships and stories. When a lot carries his approval, roasters receive not only a carefully graded coffee but also the provenance and authenticity that make Ethiopian coffee exceptional.
Zelalem's Story

Zelalem bridges Ethiopia’s origin expertise with international markets, engaged both on the ground and across global operations. He oversees logistics, finance, analytics, and partnerships — ensuring coffee moves with integrity from farmers to roasters while operations remain transparent and data-driven.
He brings 17 years of management and technical analytics experience across banking, consulting, retail, and sustainable development — having worked with Wells Fargo, Discover Card, Deloitte, Walmart, and the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture. His career spans strategic management, financial operations, and analytics, giving him the rare ability to connect technical insight with executive decision-making.
